Parish Councillors, children from the local Okehampton Primary School and their teachers, recently helped Dartmoor National Park Authority Staff (rangers and Ecologists) to replace several of the dormouse and pied flycatcher boxes located in Meldon woods.
The woodland is owned by the Parish Council and, following a request from the local Ranger, they managed to secure funds to pay for the replacement boxes.
This will enable the important monitoring of both these species to continue for years to come.
